I am a member of the Planetary Atmospheres group at the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB). We study the atmospheres of planets, to understand the composition and the atmospheric processes occurring in the other bodies of our Solar System, in particular Venus and Mars.

My current project is NOMAD, a spectrometer orbiting around Mars on the ESA ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter satellite. NOMAD was primarily designed and built in Belgium, as part of a large multinational team of engineers and scientists, and is operated from BIRA-IASB via the European Space Agency (ESA).

Since NOMAD launched in 2016, I am responsible for planning observations, calibrating the data, day-to-day management activities such as organising team meetings and telecons, and production of publicly available products for the ESA Planetary Science Archive. I also created and maintain the NOMAD website on behalf of the team. During the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Testing (MAIT) phase of the mission, I was responsible for management of the project at BIRA-IASB, and led the ground calibration campaign prior to launch.

My previous work, in the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford, centred on supporting laboratory measurements for the Diviner Lunar Radiometer on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, a satellite orbiting the Moon.
